Experience

For nearly 20 years, I have had the privilege of serving in public education—first as a teacher and coach, then as a school counselor, and eventually as an assistant principal and principal. Each role has shaped me in profound ways, strengthening my belief that relationships are at the heart of every thriving school community. I am continually humbled by the students, staff, and families who have entrusted me with their stories, their struggles, and their successes. They have been my greatest teachers.

My work as a certified Trainer of Restorative Practices through the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) has further deepened my understanding of how connection, accountability, and care transform school culture. I have been fortunate to train educators across the state, facilitate programs through the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, present with the Bureau of Education and Research (BER), and teach aspiring leaders at Montclair State University. These opportunities have broadened my perspective and reinforced the importance of building systems that honor both students’ humanity and educators’ capacity to lead with compassion.

As a school leader, I have worked alongside dedicated teams to shape restorative, student-centered environments grounded in fairness, clear expectations, and shared responsibility. Along the way, I have learned just as much as I have contributed—about humility, about listening deeply, and about the power of communities that choose to repair harm rather than divide. Every challenge has brought with it an opportunity for growth; every success has been a reflection of collective effort.

I remain grateful for the chance to learn, lead, and grow with others. My goal now is to share the tools, strategies, and lived experiences that have proven meaningful in my own journey, so that more schools can cultivate cultures where every student feels known, valued, and supported—and where adults feel empowered to build restorative school communities that thrive.
